Tally Ho

A metal sculpture of a larger than life sized pink pig, posed standing as if skipping into battle, wearing a scabbard, with the sabre drawn in the air.

This pig sculpture is posed gleefully skipping into battle, standing on his hind legs with his sword 'arm' forwards and the other behind. The imagery is reminiscent of children’s Ladybird book illustrations from the 1960’s like the cautionary fable of the three little pigs. Tally Ho was the traditional cry used by english huntsmen from the eighteenth century when the fox was spotted. This sculpture of the same name is a light hearted satire about blindly running in to battle, commenting on more recent decisions by leaders to engage in conflicts around the world.
