Scramble
A large scale metal sculpture of a world war 2 airman with his dog both shown as if running to a call to mobilise
Commissioned by Suffolk County Council in 2000 by Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum in Flixton, Suffolk, the sculpture shows a world war 2 airman and his Labrador dog as they scramble to the call of duty. The airman wears a life jacket over his uniform, helmet on, flying goggles up, he carries his gloves in his outstretched hand as he responds to the sudden call to action. It was commissioned to commemorate the local airfields and the British and American pilots of World War II.
