Linder's Field Gates

These large entrance gates to Linder's Field nature reserve show the local flora and fauna with many animals and plants woven into a complex design

Commissioned by Epping Forest District Council in 2002 Linder’s Field County Nature Reserve is sited off Roebuck Lane in Buckhurst Hill, Essex. The decorative gates were commissioned to draw attention to the nature reserve. Woven into a rich and dense design they depict the local flora and fauna including an owl, a fox, squirrels, a rabbit, a mouse, dragonflies, butterflies and a kingfisher. So detailed are the plants and animals that the site rangers have used them as a resource for educational groups visiting the nature reserve.
