Pan
Large metal sculpture of Pan, the Greek god of nature, pastures and flocks, holding up a cornucopia spilling with produce
Commissioned by Eckington Manor Cookery School in 2012, this sculpture of the god Pan is located at Eckington Manor in Worcestershire. As a faun, Pan has horns but otherwise he has a human form and wears a loincloth of leaves. Pan is a greek god of nature and in particular of pastures, flocks, shepherds and here he is shown offering a cornucopia overflowing with the wealth of produce from the surrounding fields, orchards and gardens. He carries the produce towards the cookery school to illustrate their 'fresh and local' ethos, from field to plate.
